Episode 35 (3×13) “Less Than 30″ RECAP
Summary
Episode starts off with Drama hackling Turtle to take pictures of him standing infront of the Five Towns billboard. Eric and Vince wait in the car, and then head over to Amanda’s. Turtle reminds them to invite her to Vince’s birthday which Turtle is organizing. Over at Amanda’s everyone is wishing Vince a happy birthday. Amanda asks Vince and Eric if they read any of the scripts she gave them. Eric read four. Vince read half of three.
Eric and Vince want a diffrent script, and she tells them about “Glimpses of the Moon”. It will be directed by Sam Mendes. She says it’s similar to “Age of Innocence”. Amanda mentions they need a quick answer.
Next shot is of Drama, Turtle, Amanda, Vince and Eric at the game. Amanda mentions at the game that there is “no one” in her life.
Ari is bitching to Lloyd about the Laker’s game, and how upset he is Vince going with Amanda at the Laker’s game. Ari mentions his gift is gonna be so much better because he is actually getting Vince something he wants.
In the morning the guys are talking shop, and Turtle mentions they need to “lose the venue”. Turtle is not happy about the 2am “stop the booze” policy.
While eating breakfast, Vince tells Eric he likes the script to “Glimpses of the Moon”.Eric likes and aswell and asks if he should call Amanda. Vince says he will call Amanda, so she thinks he is taking it seriously. During all this, Ari calls Vince’s house and hangs up, and tells Lloyd he was spooked because “he never picked up before”.
To cover up Ari prank call Lloyd calls Drama and asks about the billboard. He then asks if Vince is there, maybe Ari can say hi. Ari asks if Vince misses him, and tells him he has a present and wants to know if he can send it, or if they can maybe do diner, or maybe lunch. Vince says he will agree to coffee. In the background Turtle is organizing the birthday party.Back on the phone, Vince tells Amanda he loves the script for “Glimpses” as he is walking over to have coffee with Ari and Eric. Ari give Vince his present, and tells him to open it later.
Turtle and Drama are looking around for a venue and find a nice boat. Problem is it only fits 200-250 people, and Turtle says they need something bigger. At the end of lunch, Eric’s three credit cards are declined, and Turtle is way over budget for the party. Turtle and Drama are looking over the budget and Turtle gets an idea to “make a ton of money” and goes to look for the Yellow Pages.
Back at home, Vince opens the present from Ari and it’s the script to Medellin. Vince and Eric is wondering if it’s a joke. Eric calls Ari and asks about Medellin. As a friend Ari suggests that he call Amanda and find out why she didn’t give them the script first. Eric goes to Amanda and she says as far as she knows Medellin is unavailable.
On the way to the party Vince is annoyed because he doesn’t know why Ari sent the script if it’s unavailable. Drama is pissed because the lights on his main billboard don’t work.
Turns out Turtle big idea was to get sponsors for the birthday party. Victoria’s Secret, Carvel, Bliss and a crap load of other sponsors. Sloane shows up on the boat for second and wishes Vince a Happy Birthday.
Vince proceds to tell Turtle he is a genius. Amanda tells Eric she checked up on Medellin and says it’s shooting in four weeks.
Ari enters the frame and Ari and Amanda start to square off. Amanda tells Vince to decide “me or Ari” and Vince picks Amanda.
Ari asks as a friend for one minute with Vince. They go outside, and Ari is talking to Vince and says they can get Medellin. Vince is annoyed that Ari is taling shop says the relationship is purely friendship. Ari is cool with that (for now), they pound it out. Ari says Vince will be back, and calls Amanda a hack. Amanda calls Ari a bitch.
Back inside, the cake is coming out and everyone sings Vince a Happy Birthday. Drama asks Vince to remember him in his wishes. With that Amanda says that Sam Mendes wants to skip the meeting and go straight to an offer for Vince to do Glimpses. Vince says he actually wants to hold off for a little while just incase Ari is right about “Glimpses”. Amanda looks uber pissed as Vince walks off with two hot models.
