Medellin

A few people have been asking how Medellin made it to the Cannes Film Festival. I would just like to mention that Richard Kelly’s follow-up to Donnie Darko title “Southland Tales” was competing at Cannes and it received alot of negative reviews. It was called “about the biggest, ugliest mess I’ve ever seen.” by one critic.
Southland Tales is now being re-cut by Kelly.
The same thing happened to Vincent Gallo’s Brown Bunny, so its likely and it happens.
End of Season 4.. Some Thoughts
Posted by DramaForPresident on September 4th, 2007 filed in Uncategorized24 Comments »
So season 4 came, and left quickly. Was everyone satisfied? I personally believe Season 4 was the weakest of all the seasons so far, even tho there were some exceptional episodes. My biggest grief is how the show feels they can skip over very important details and later just mention them in passing. Two examples I can think of our Eric’s relationship with Sloane, and the Perfect 10 model from “My Maserati does 185″. It was mentioned this season that Eric kept calling her after that episode, and the only reason they weren’t together was because he got deported. I know that we’ve heard Doug Ellin say that he show isn’t suppose to be plot driven, but it doesn’t mean that they can skip over, or have the viewer assume a bunch of things. I also know, that for most viewers it doesn’t matter that 3 months past between the end episode Episode 1 of Season 4, and the beginning of Episode 2 of Season 4, but I think maybe the writing staff needs to slightly rethink their approach for Season 5.
Also, is it just me, or is TVweek’s “Podcast” with Doug Ellin the most useless shit ever? Ask some real fucking question lady…
More thoughts, and predictions coming soon.

What other details know:
- We meet Anna Faris’ boyfriend Dave. He is played by A.J. Buckley, you may recognize him from his semi regular role on CSI NY. (see picture to the right)

- Eric’s first day on the job is Anna at a photo shoot. Dave is annoying the photographer and Eric tries to take care of it.
- Ari meets (aka storms into his office) with a big studio exec to (possibly) sort out the issues between him, Dana Gordon, Billy Walsh and the script…
Additional Spoilers for the season
- Kanye West is going to guest star in episode 4×11 (No Cannes Do) most likely.. still waiting back for confirmation.
- Sydney Pollack will also guest star. Unknown episode…
- Eric is going to try to get Anna into “Lost in the Clouds”. Don’t want to give away too much, so more spoilers on this next week…
- Last episode is filmed at Cannes Film Festival. In Episode 4×11 the guys are stuck at the airport…
